I like trail braking. It is my natural tendency, and has been since I first started running fast on mountain roads growing up. I never knew what trail braking was until I went to Bob Bondurant’s Driving School when I was 16. They didn’t really push me into it, but when they realized this was what I naturally wanted to do, and was fast doing it, they made sure I was doing it right. And doing it right is important, because otherwise trail braking can bite you in the ass. But man it is fun and if you learn and do it right you’ll be amazed at what you can make a car do.

The guys at the Team O’Neil Rally School were nice enough to send us this video yesterday so that we could share it with all of you BANGshifters. This is a skill that really help out in a variety of racing environments, but this example is easy to understand and certainly fun to watch.
