Victory Motorcycles Will Be Bringing An Electric Bike To Race At The Isle Of Man TT This Year!

Victory Motorcycles’ racing division will be bringing an electric motorcycle to the 2015 Isle Of Man Tourist Trophy race on June 10th. Marking the first time the brand will take place in any European motorcycle racing, Victory has two Northern Irishmen riding for them: William Dunlop and Lee Johnston. The bike is a slightly tweaked version of what was sold as the Brammo Empulse RR. (Brammo was bought out by Polaris, who owns Victory.) Powered by a liquid-cooled  electric motor that has been detuned from 173hp to 150hp to last long enough to finish the course. While this is Victory’s first e-motorcycle class, Brammo had success at the Isle of Man TTXGP in 2009 with the Enertia, the predecessor to the Empulse.
