I’m a fan of sprint cars, super modifieds, and midgets. I mean how can you not be? At the PRI Show, me and Eric Yost walked around a Super Modified at the show and drooled at all the coolness going on. But all of those cars are designed for going around an oval as quickly as possible, with the power they have on board. They are NOT designed or intended to go around a road course. That’s because they are designed to turn left and that’s it. No right turns. So you can imagine what it has to be like to try and take a sprint car and make it ready to turn left and right. Can it do it?
Apparently the answer is yes, although it had to have a little love.
In the video below, Andrew Bogusz walks us through the changes that were made to his sprint car in order to run it at the American Speed Festival at the M1 Concourse road course in Pontiac Michigan. This is a fun looking track, and we appreciate what Andrew and his crew did to make his sprint car ready for the action, and ultimately for taking us along for the ride. Check it out.
Video Description:
Back in October, I had the pleasure to compete in the American Festival of Speed held at my local road course, the M1 Concourse; a 1.5-mile track that featured a few elevation changes. It seems like an impossible track and car combination but after some adjustments to make the car equal, my team and I were able to drive the reverse layout of the track.
