The Lucas Oil Off-Road Expo was this past weekend here in SoCal, at the famed Fairplex in Pomona, home to the NHRA Winternationals, World Finals, and Pomona Swap Meet. We’ve been unable to attend for the past couple years as it’s been on a race weekend but this year we got to make the trip! So after loading up in the Suburban, Daphne and Cole and I made the 20 minute trek and got our 4×4 on! It was awesome. Well it sucked too though, but only because I found about $100k worth of stuff I want for the Suburban to make it into a cool Pre-runner/Expedition rig. That’s only two or three zeroes more than my budget, but I was certainly inspired to build some of my own stuff that is for sure.

Whether you are into crawlers, desert racing, expedition, pre-runners, side by sides, short course racing, or anything else off-road, this place had it. And it was packed! We’re talking hundreds of vendors and thousands of people checking out all the cool stuff you can imagine. Besides all the great booths with displays of the latest parts, project vehicles, and more, there was also a show and shine area for locals, demo rides in Jeeps, and a demo course for RC and Lucas Oil Off Road trucks. It was non-stop visual stimulation, and proof that the truck market is back and with a vengeance. If you are into trucks like we are, you need to attend next year. It was cool.
