Vans are cool. Lowered, lifted, raked out, or laid out, we dig them. And what’s not to love? They are a truck with more storage space, a station wagon with more room for friends. And customizing vans has been a thing for so long it’s amazing. One of the coolest things to us about van customizers is the fact that they are way more serious about sticking to a theme than anyone else. Maybe that’s because the canvas is so big that they can go hog wild. Whatever the reason, we have always loved them and would like to have one for ourselves. Never have I thought that a Corvair Van would be the one for me though. Well until I saw this one anyway. Have you ever seen one this slammed? Me neither!
This particular Corvair Van is complete and laid out on air ride. Besides the air ride getting it down low it has also been body dropped, or channeled, so that it sits the rockers right on the ground. That’s a look we love and with the wide whites and red steelies the primered black look is perfect. We’re pretty sure it’s no race winner with the factory air cooled powerplant under the rear, but we know guys that do some tricks to these and make a lot more power. We’d leave this one relatively stock and cruise the hell out of it. We image that pulling up in front of school to pickup the kids would create quite the stir among the normal soccer mom’s in the pickup line. We think the value of their BMW’s and Volvos would go up by having us around, but I’m pretty sure they won’t agree. Which is just another reason why this sucker is perfect!
And at an asking price of $5000 we’re pretty sure this thing has some wiggle room and seems like a pretty good deal.
Here is the seller’s info. 1963 Chevrolet corvair van, bagged and body dropped. I bought this van as a project to fully restore but unfortunately I’m in a situation hat forces me to sell it. It’s fully complete with a clean title. Contact me at (951)634-2827 for any other info.
