Here in Southern California, it’s common to see lifted trucks of all kinds. The F350 or Chevy HD Crew Cabs on 37’s pulling big toy hauler RV trailers, short bed 4×4’s setup for the mud, or rock crawling Jeeps like all my neighbors seem to have, are pretty standard fair across the country. But desert race style Pre-Runners. like this long travel F150 Supercrew, are a SoCal specialty that you not very likely to see many other places in the country. And before you go saying “But wait, my neighbor Bubba has one of them newfangled Ford Raptors, and it looks just like that!”, while interesting, and pretty capable, a Raptor isn’t the same as a true long travel Prerunner.
Other than needing a little paint, the particular Ford is pretty bad ass. It’s got a Richer racing long travel kit, which consists of some pretty serious uni-ball equipped upper and lower control arms that are at least 3 inches over stock length. In addition, their are Radflo coilovers on board, with bypasses and air bumps. This is the good stuff folks.
Your insurance guy may not approve of the air bag removal, but just tell him how much safer you are with the full cage instead. The AC and heat still work, despite all the cage running through the dash, and all the tubing is DOM.
The Master Craft suspension seats make your back and butt a happy camper after bombing through the desert at 100 mph, and the Crow harnesses keep you planted.
Those aren’t poser fake beadlocks either. Those are Walker Evans full race beadlocks with 37″ BFG desert race tires.
According to the listing, it’s been garaged it’s entire life, which makes us laugh because we’re pretty sure it’s the times when it’s not at home that are the ones you should worry about in this thing. But, the owner claims it has never seen the dirt, so we’ll take him at his word while silently chastising him for not jumping this thing BangShift style.
Yep build threads has this build covered. It was quite a while ago but its on there somewhere.
I believe the builder races trophy trucks and wanted to continue that with his daily..
