A Survivor 1971 Mopar That Is The Yin To Brian’s 1969 Roadrunner’s Yang. You Gotta See This!

Rarely do you find ’60s and ’70’s era cars with original paint, original interior, and little or no wear like the one below. The fact that it’s got 134,318 original miles on it, and has a complete book of service records, is a testament to the ownership that has kept this thing this nice. Yes, I realize it’s a Camper Van, and that I’m describing it as if it is some survivor Hemi Cuda. I’m a freak. I know.

But check this thing out!. It’s awesome in every way, and if you aren’t looking at it thinking it would be awesome to haul your family around in for the summer, then you are just un-American. If I had the money this 1971 Dodge Tradesman 200 would be in my driveway before the weekend! The 3/4 ton van was bought new in the Pacific Northwest, and then converted almost immediately into the luxurious family camper you see before you. It has the venerable 318 for power, a 727 automatic, and 3.55 gears which should make it a great cruiser that gets decent mileage even.

A comfy dinette for 4.

Becomes a comfy love nest for two.

And if you have more guests, the penthouse suite upstairs offers great views, ventilation, and room for two.

We dig the matching Coleman cooler.

Throw a 5 speed in it from American Powertrain, and an Atomic EFI on top and it would be the ultimate cruise!

The 318 runs mint. Has recently rebuilt heads, and everything is there and in perfect stock condition.

1971 Dodge Tradesman Camper Van 6

Other than a little patina on the roof, and the slightly dull paint, it’s mint!

It sleeps 5, or 4 adults and 1 small person, and even comes with a matching steel Coleman cooler and accessories. The fact that all of the stuff in this van is 100% original makes it that much better. Makes you almost want to put on your avocado green shorts and cruise the country doesn’t it!

We want it.

Don’t forget to pack your corduroy!

It’s rare enough seeing a muscle car preserved that well – a camper van kept like that is just about unheard-of! Looks like it would make a fun road trip van.

    …. put a ” If This Vans a Rockin Don’t Come a Knockin ” and a ” Don’t Laugh .. Your Daughter is Inside ” bumper stickers on the back …

… an ” @$& , Gas or Cash : No One Rides for Free ” plaque on the dashboard Mr Reynolds and y’alls good to go 😉

Come to think of it . Let me know if you ever do get a classic Camper Van of some sort . I’m betting if I dig hard enough I might be able to find a few left over NOS in my collection from back in the day

The green/white WA plate…those were cut in mid to late ’88 for the “Centennial Celebration” plate which is pretty much the current one now.

The fact that I can’t decide if I like the roadrunner or the van better should say a lot
