Mopar guys have permission to drool. We don’t see these very often, but when we do they always seem to bring a smile to our faces. Maybe that’s why they called them Dreamers. This one in particular is a 1978 and they started off as D300 Dodge 1-ton van cab and chassis units. Just like a class C motorhome. The sleeper cab, and pickup bed, were grafted on and the next thing you knew you had a big giant RVesque pickup that was perfect for hauling an RV trailer, horse trailer, or whatever. And because the back seat area is so big, you really could relax back there and the rear seat folds flat for sleeping too.
I dig them, and think they would make a cool tow rig. Of course, I’m a Chevy guy so I would like to get the parts and build one on a Chevy Van. The truth is the bedsides are much more Chevrolet looking anyway, and the fenders are nearly identical to those that came on Chevrolet duallies.
What do you think? Fun tow rig? What kind of cool swap would be right in one of these? Maybe Sprinter power? Or Cummins? Hmmmm
