We are not always the biggest fans of the cartoon “Rat Rods”, but there is something about this one that we dig. In fact when I sent the link to Brian to check out his comment was “Wow, that is an epic freak! I actually like the 1959 Chevy ass on it.” I couldn’t agree more. And there are plenty of race car cool parts on it too, along with all the freaky stuff. Something about this just speaks to us. Maybe it’s because it’s Thursday. Who knows!
Check it out, here is all the info from the seller.
Up for auction is our 1936 Interpala Rat Rod Pickup! This truck was built in 27 days for the 2015 Rat Rod Magazine Build Off competition and took home the “Road Warrior” Award. This will be featured in the November issue of the Rat Rod Magazine. It has a Blown 305 motor with big valve SR heads, roller rockers and, a VERY lumpy solid lift cam. Don’t let the 305 deceive you, this motor is surprisingly FAST! It has a 6-71 Blower running 5 lbs of bust with a single 750 Holley. Has MSD ignition with a 5 speed manual transmission. Comes with a new Wilwood pedal assembly. The steering is a Sprint car steering box. Front suspension is Sprint car torsion bar. Rear suspension is 3 bar coil over. The frame is custom built 2×3 tube frame. Front and rear brake assembly is Wilwood wide five racing hubs. The rear end is a Franklin Quick Change. It does have 4 wheel disc brakes with 4 piston calipers. Includes braided lines throughout with AN fittings. Has a 12 gal stainless steel fuel tank. Also has a new wiring harness. The cab is a 1936 International Harvester chopped 3 1/2 ” and channeled 3″. Does have a complete custom roll cage. The rear half of the body is a 1959 Impala. That is where we came up with the name “Interpala”. The aluminum racing radiator sits behind the cab with a cooling fan and a custom built radiator shroud, keeping it running cool at and below 200 degrees.

Amazing!
The detailing is fantastic especially the fin line starting on the doors. The rear end should have been “distressed” the same way as the rest of the truck though. I love this even though it is Chevy powered!
The lack of a speedo is interesting though – is that to avoid paralysing fear at the speeds this baby can achieve…
It’s amazing how people go gaga over a POS like that thing. It’s not a rat rod, its a puke rod.

No fan of Rat Rods either, but there is some quality engineering and workmanship in this thing. (though it doesn’t look to include that hideous shifter)
