Dude! Just look at this one! This is a California survivor of the most epic kind. With perfect sheet metal and no rust, this 1965 Dodge D300 is the most perfect example of how nicely cars can be preserved out west. With just 80,000 miles on the original truck, we’re sure it was still a driver when they found it, but it likely came with a Slant Six under the hood although a 318 V8 was optional. Keep in mind that in 1965 the Slant Six engine sold as many as the V8s. With the 4.88 gears out back it would not have been fun on the highway, but working on a farm or ranch, or being used to haul good in town it would have done great. But the limited drivability now makes it totally understandable that a modern engine swap was in order.
Mopar purists are going to freak out when they see an LS under the hood, but if you don’t like it you can always pull it and swap in a Gen 3 HEMI instead.
