Sand cars are bad ass. I realize that most of you never seen them, or have anywhere to drive one, but if you live out here on the west coast, or in certain areas of Michigan and Oklahoma, you are very familiar with sand cars. There are a few other spots in the country as well, but regardless of what state you live in everyone pretty well recognizes that Glamis is THE sand box to play in. But even though we’re used to seeing sand cars, seeing one like this 1600 horsepower sand car, is not that common. Every year on holidays and weekends this place is packed full of people on motorcycles and quads, or driving side by sides, Dune Buggies, trucks, and sand cars. The fastest stuff you’ll find are usually insane sand cars with trophy truck suspension travel, and small tire drag racing power. And thanks to some serious hook provided by those paddle tires, wheelstands are the norm at Glamis.
