Watch BJ Baldwin, And A Ferrett, Show Why 6 Wheel Drive Is Awesome

Okay, so the Ferrett is the 6-wheel drive vehicle, but still, it’s the first time we’ve remarked on a Ferrett here at BangShift.com, and it makes us giggle like we are 12 year old idiots. Please do not agree with us. So anyway, BJ Baldwin is handed the keys to this Toyo equipped “Ferrett” which is some crazy ass little 6-wheeled thing that looks like it would be a riot to drive. Don’t you agree? It apparently started out as a 1959 Ferrett, which is an armored scout vehicle that was used by the military back then. Now it has some serious suspension upgrades, an LS engine under the rear, and a lot more cool factor, but itis still a Ferrett. Apparently it has 4-wheel independent suspension with coilovers and the two extra wheels are mounted to each side like spares. But, they are on hydraulic hubs that allow them to rotate and drive the vehicle as needed. The tires hang just far enough below the body as to allow them to touch tough terrain and roll over it. Weird, but cool. And amazingly affective.

Is there no limit to what sad sacks will stick that well-known hunka shit the LS into? Do they know that there are plenty of other motors out there such as barking turbo diesels. But that would involve using their brain power which is completely lacking in LS lovers. I’d build a turbo Shotgun powered tank and lie in wait for it…

Fact check please. The Ferret is four wheel drive. Those are spares mounted on wheel bearings, they are not driven at all.

Otherwise, this is one damn cool zombie apocalypse vehicle!
