The Toyo Tires Desert Challenge is a pure desert race that happens during the much larger King of the Hammers race at Johnson Valley. While the Race of Kings, the premier race at KOH, features Ultra 4 machines that are racing across the desert, they are also racing through the rock gardens and trails that make Johnson Valley famous. This race here is all about desert racing only and features Trophy Trucks doing what they do, which is hauling ass at speeds well over 100 miles per hour in rough desert conditions that put the engine, the drivetrain, the suspension, and the driver’s and navigators through their paces.
