The Unimog Expedition Rig Project Gets Raptor Lined! The Color Change And Durability Is Dramatic

I have to tell you, I’m not typically impressed with trucks and such that you see going down the road covered in bedliner. Whether they are done professionally, using Line-X or some other heated two part system, or are done at home with a cheap can of rattle can or roll on bedliner, I’m just never convinced the look is right or that living with it won’t suck. This Raptor lined Unimog just might change my mind. Why now you ask?

Well, there are a couple of reasons. First off, the texture is nice. And before one of you Line-X dealers gets on here and tells me that you can make the texture smoother or rougher based on application, I know that. And I’m not bagging on Line-X. I love it. I think spray in bed liners are great. I’m just saying that the ones I’ve seen done tend to lean towards the rough finish and I think that will require pressure washing or scrubbing every time you want to wash your truck. This Raptor Liner seems to have went on slightly smoother and might be easier to clean up. I also like the fact that if I wanted to do a graphic, or I bashed up a fender and needed to replace it, this Raptor Liner is simple to touch up at home. I like that, which is reason number two for this Raptor Liner maybe changing my mind.

And reason number three? This stuff is tough, but not so tough that I can’t sand it off if I decided to restore my Unimog to factory or something. It will sand off. You’ll never get commercial spray on bed liner off the sheetmetal. Ever. Ever. Ever. LOL

At any rate, they got this thing painted up with Raptor and it looks cool. Watch how they did it.
