We’ve spent enough time on rock trails to know that the most mundane looking stuff can sometimes kick your ass. For example, the trail at Stoddard Wells called Pumpkin Eater. It’s a mix of stuff that looks hard core and stuff that doesn’t look bad in comparison. All of it will tear your junk up. So when the guys over at Fabtech sent me an email saying they had some cool rock crawling videos they shot while out testing, I told them two things.

First, “Thanks! Our readers will dig it!” and second, “You guys have to take me next time so I can come be a part of the fun!”

What’s crazy to me about this video is that this is NOT a simple cruise up it trail. There are decades worth of off-roaders who have struggled to climb these very rocks, but today’s suspension and drivetrain technology make some of it look stupid simple. And how about the giant tires we all run now? Back in the day a 31/10.50/15 BFG All Terrain was it. No wonder those guys had to work so hard to climb some of this stuff! We’ll let you know just how tough it is once we go on a trip with these dudes!
