Check Out This Footage Of The Big Rig Class At The NHDRA Drags At Texas Motorplex

With the popularity of diesel racing, it is not surprising one bit that running a semi tractor down the strip has happened. What is surprising is how rare it is in the United States. In Canada, they have the Rodeo du Caminos, where big rigs go head-to-head in a race on a blocked-off street. Here, we have the NHDRA Big Rig class that has been gaining ground at events. These heavy haulers run, too, and while a 16-second ET isn’t normally something to brag about, in a Peterbilt that is taking time off from actually packing a trailer around, that’s pretty stout. Hustling several tons of truck while rowing through the gears makes for some good racing that is quite a bit different from the normal.
