Check Out This Footage Of The Big Rig Class At The NHDRA Drags At Texas Motorplex

With the popularity of diesel racing, it is not surprising one bit that running a semi tractor down the strip has happened. What is surprising is how rare it is in the United States. In Canada, they have the¬†Rodeo du Caminos, where big rigs go head-to-head in a race on a blocked-off street. Here, we have the NHDRA Big Rig class that has been gaining ground at events. These heavy haulers run, too, and while a 16-second ET isn’t normally something to brag about, in a Peterbilt that is taking time off from actually packing a trailer around, that’s pretty stout. Hustling several tons of truck while rowing through the gears makes for some good racing that is quite a bit different from the normal.
