In the interest of being fully open and honest, I must admit that I’m not that big of a diesel fan…by that, I mean that I normally view diesel vehicles as either trucks that are still honest-to-God work vehicles or small European cars meant to pull fuel mileage like nobody’s business. I like my trucks to work…haul, tow, and do whatever I ask of it. Diesel drags are fun, and the show is nice and all, but the truck pulls were where you could find me. Watching stout trucks hook to a heavy sled and drag that big sonofabitch while screaming their lungs out? Yes sir, that’s much more like it. If you want to see what diesel power truly is, go to a truck pull. Watch as what looks like a slightly modified pickup hooks up to the sled. Listen to the turbo come on, making a noise like an F-16 waking up, and watch the tires dig in as the truck goes for broke.
