When the pandemic started to become a real issue for us here in America, the joke was that cabin fever was about to get a reality check. What was a few weeks of staying at home when you’d already been staying at home thanks to winter? Well…it’s a question for you, readers: how have you been holding up this year? With winter winding down in March for most of the North American and European readership, it’s proven to be a long ass year. Now, imagine what it is like in Iceland, where the summer barely lasts three months and barely breaks into what we’d call “warm weather”. Remember, Iceland is a place where a 60-degree sunny day in the middle of July is a very warm day. When it’s not summer…yeah, it’s not nice. So normally, when we show you Formula Offroad events, it’s summertime stuff because that’s the time to get out and play. But guess what threw a wrench in that plan this year?
As of now, the Icelandic Formula Offroad season is back with a six-round championship that’s slated to run from now until September. What do you think these drivers, cooped up at home, are gonna do once they get the nose pointed at the hill? Twenty to one, they’re going to send it like they’ve never sent it before.
