Chances are good that if you’ve ever seen a lifted four-wheel-drive full-size van, that Quigley Vans have had their hands on the build. They’ve been doing the conversions since 1975 and their approach has been pretty much straightforward: Once the van itself has been ordered, it is shipped to Quigley’s base of operations in Pennsylvania for a couple week’s worth of wrenching before the owner receives the keys to their own four-wheel-drive battle wagon. But with the shift in types of full-size vans recently, as well as the demise of the Ford E-series and the end of the half-ton Chevy/GMC vans, Quigley needed to find a new platform to work on. Since Daimler handles conversion of the Sprinter van in-house, they turned their attention to the Transit.
The red van in the video is one of the three prototype Transits being used for product development. It is a 3.5L EcoBoost half-ton model and if this is a prototype that is still in development, we think that there will be nothing to worry about with the final form when Quigley starts taking orders. Imagine a high-roof Transit set up like a mini-RV for weekend trips that can handle nearly anywhere you want to go…that works for us!

The Transit – what a legend!
Here in the UK there literally would have been no music scene without fleets of Transits busily ferrying bands and their gear around the country – and without that I would have had no life!
Thank you for that Ford – but why oh why did you have to make the latest edition so butt-ugly!
It looks like a bulldog sucking a wasp!
