Rooting Around: Rockbouncers In The Slop And The Steep In Kentucky!

Summertime in the state of Kentucky doesn’t always equate to dry, dusty back roads lined with corn fields. I can promise you that summer storms are capable of dumping inches of rain at a time here. That happy little cloud in the distance can quickly become the happy little storm cloud that’s flinging lightning and sideways rain. For a gearhead, that sucks…the only positive to the storms in the summer is that the temperature usually goes down a bit. But for the off-road folk that play in the rockbouncer series, it’s just another bit of fun to have in the woods. Not that climbing hills that are damn near mission impossible isn’t fun already, but if there’s a bit of mud to play in while you’re there, why not, right?

This footage is from the Dirt Nasty Offroad Park in Morehead, Kentucky, out in the eastern end of the state. This is a points event, so making the run up the three different hills is crucial to maintaining a lead for the championship. Just look out for that third hill, it looks to be a mother.
