Like I said before, the Fab Rats are not afraid to cut or modify whatever rolls into the shop. And they seem to have a lot of fun doing it! We’ve been following this build from the first cut, and laughed at the fact that there was zero hesitation from them with regards to hacking this thing up. If you missed it, you can click the link below to watch the other videos in the series. The crew cut a perfectly functional Jeep in half just behind the doors, lengthened it 18 inches or so, filled in and reinforced the frame rails, linked the rear suspension, filled in the giant gap in the body sides and floors, added bash protection to the body, and then plumbed and wired the whole thing so it was ready to run.
In this video they finish up the floors, wiring, and brakes and then get this thing back to life and driving out of the shop.
That’s a lot of stuff to do to one rig, but it sure does make it a cool ride. Like we’ve said before, off-roaders are sorta like mini-truckers in that they are absolutely willing to cut up anything and everything in pursuit of the build of their dreams. It’s funny, but I think most hot rodders would freak out to see the absolute pleasure that comes from hacking up a perfectly good vehicle.
