If a racing venue has an “Unlimited” class, you can guarantee that is the show you have to see. Unlimited means just that: follow the safety rules, and whatever else pretty much goes. At a truck pull, it means multiple engines hanging off of one tractor. In boat racing, it’s a hydroplane that can hit 200 miles an hour on the water powered by the same turbine engine that a Chinook helicopter uses At a time-attack mud pit course, that means anything can and will run, like the baddest local boy in a Chevrolet longbed, to a Mercedes trar, to a sand dragger S-10 with enough power on hand to slow the Earth’s rotation, all the way up to barely-hidden mega trucks with their razorblade-thin tires. And the racing itself is just like everything else that’s good in life: dirty, loud, and over before you know it. It sounds like a dragstrip and has more mud-throwing than the Presidential race, and it’s a damn good time for all involved!
