It’s been fall for roughly a week in Western Kentucky and frankly, I’m already sick of it. I’m sick of watching the sun hit the horizon earlier and earlier. I’m not thrilled that my car is an ice pop first thing in the morning and that I have to spend my half-fogged first hour awake scraping ice. Having a nice low-70s afternoon is nice, but at the expense of the rest of this? Nah, I’m good. We haven’t even hit the wet, leaf-littered disgusting part of this crap yet. Just wait until the pumpkins are getting soggy and rotten…then I’ll really be in a great mood about it all. My outdoor wrenching season is coming to a close and I’m not thrilled about it, can ya tell?
It’s not like there isn’t enough to complain about regarding the year we shall forget, but frankly, I’m ready for more warm sun and outdoor time. You want social distancing? I’ll give you social distancing. I’ll go f*** off into the woods for a bit with a capable 4×4, camping gear and food and I’ll see you when I need to return to humanity for some supplies, how about that? Sounds good, right?
