Virtual Trip: Take An Off-Road Ride On The Trails Of Australia’s Baal Bone Gap

Generally, when we have covered anything Australian with an engine, 99% of the time it’s a tire-shredding beast of a car with a blower that makes unholy amounts of power and noise at the same time. What can we say, we like that sort of thing! But there is a lot more to see in Australia that that. The island continent has one of the more challenging landscapes on Earth, and off-roading comes naturally to the landscape famous for being rough and fairly deadly. This clip from YouTube channel On The Dirt follows a trail ride that is hosted by Mannell Motors and Penrith ARB for their customers. The trail runs to Baal Bone Gap in New South Wales, an area that would be analogous to northern Arizona for layout: lots of rocky areas and some forests to play in. One of the cooler features of this video is that you get to see a wide array of trucks running the trail, from the Ford Ranger we don’t get to the Mitsubishi Triton, to older stuff like Nissan Patrols and Land Cruisers. It isn’t radical stuff, most of the trucks look like lightly modified street vehicles, but this is a nice workout on a beautiful day with killer views…what off-roading should be about.
