Watch These Down Under Stadium Super Trucks Drivers End Up Upside-Down

Robby Gordon’s Stadium Super Trucks series has found a home away from home with several races in Australia. The brutish off-road trucks look positively absurd navigating any temporary street circuit, but the Surfers Paradise track that hosts the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship is especially crazy for the SST field. The trucks just drive over the chicanes that slow other race cars down and the flurry of high-speed corners will send the trucks tricycling hilariously with the inside-front tire hanging a foot in the air. But when things go wrong on the street circuits, the wrecks can be crazy, as Paul “The Dude” Morris and Sara Price discovered at Surfers Paradise.

The big incident happened in the third (of four) races for the weekend with Morris, a famously relaxed V8 Supercars veteran, missing a braking point while following Price. He clobbered Price’s truck and pushed all the way into the tire barrier, which then flipped both of them up against the catch fencing. It was a scary-looking incident, but because of the stout trucks and the relatively low speed of the crash, both drivers walked away.

Ah, Paul Morris, if he can’t pass you fairly he’ll take you out. Especially if he’s not paying for the car.

Yep, Paul Morris. Expert in the art of shunt passing and the ‘turn-around’, trained by one of the best in the business (Tony L). Makes up for an appalling lack of talent with daddy’s dinero 🙂
