"Refined" is not a word that probably could ever be used to describe this truck. ha ha

that converter on the floor looks like its empty inside? is it?
At first I thought you were talking about a torque converter. I looked back through all my pics to see what you were talking about. Then I realized you were talking about the cats. lol

That wouldn't be legal, now would it?

What about painting the outside of the valve covers with a noise surpessant coating?

lol I love Mopars. I consider myself a mopar guy who just happens to be building a Ford right now. My last project was a '68 Coronet. I wanted to build something more race oriented and I did not want to hack up the Dodge, so I sold it to a guy and his teenage son. I don't mind cutting holes in the Ranger, but I couldn't say the same for the Coronet. It was a 318(then 273)/904/8.75 2dr ht. Wilwood brakes (all 4), Weld wheels, non-matching front clip. White nose, gold body and black interior that was like a frying pan in the summer sun. It had a tiny bit of rust behind the rear wheels. It was a car that I grew up seeing in my neighborhood and ended up buying and owning for a little over 10 years.

1 word..... I'll spell it out.

                        V..I..O..L..E..N..T

Holy freakin crap. When you get a whole foot full of throttle, this this grows fangs and warts and crap!

It a wheel hopping sob too. Dang near shook my fillings out and I'm sure it cleaned about a pound of dirt of it.

Had that problem with a bone stock 2.8 s-10 stick shift . Funny thing ,a few years ago I got a 4.3 stick truck and all it did was spin the back tires. Also the two 350 s-10s with autos didn't hop .None had slapper bars but I would have given them a try on the 2.8 truck but I didn't keep it long enough.

                            EXCELLENT!

                            CONGRATULATIONS!

That's got to feel great after the whole do the engine over again thing.... nicely done.

I'll be interested to see how you solve the wheel hop issue - I've not run my ranger at all this year, so, I don't have any experience with it having wheel spin issues!

                                BBR....

That little Ford is just neat as hell, and I'm excited that you've got it up and running again...and it ain't even mine!

The idle goodness alone is worth the price of admission.

Some folks listen to the sound of the surf or waterfalls to soothe their rattled nerves at work.

I'd recommend recording the idle of your truck....bet it'd sell a ton!
