BangShift Approved: Holley’s new EFI

After spending three days at SEMA surrounded by the coolest cars and horsepower around, it’s not easy to be impressed by another speed part—but this new EFI from Holley gives us lumber. When we walked into Holley’s booth to talk with Bill Tichenor, we were slapped upside the head by not one but THREE new EFI systems that start out with the Avenger EFI system that self tunes and supports 600 horsepower!

Holley EFI

With multiple companies coming out with “self-tuning” EFI systems, Holley’s entry into this fray is no surprise. But Holley’s commitment to EFI is apparent the minute you look at its products. The Avenger system has a self-tuning, no-laptop-needed, bolt-on-and-go system that supports TBI, 4-barrel MPFI, and Stealth Ram systems.

The next step is Holley’s HP EFI, which steps up to full laptop tunability—PLUS it’s self tuning. The HP EFI system also has outputs that enable you to control power adders and a data-logging feature. This system is ideal for LSX swaps, but also supports TBI, 4-barrel MPFI, and Stealth Ram kits just like the Avenger EFI system. Stand-alone harnesses and kits are available as well.

For those of you who need the Holley dominator of EFI systems, there’s the Dominator EFI. The name says it all. Dominator EFI is a no-holds-barred system with virtually unlimited capabilities, including integrated controls for electronic transmissions, drive-by wire, progressive nitrous, boost control, water meth injection, and more. An even more extensive data-logging feature means that Dominator EFI is the natural choice for high-powered, power adder equipped race cars. The user programmable inputs and outputs are almost limitless and allow experienced tuners to customize the product to their particular applications.

Holley has also designed a full range of accessories to maximize performance and make installation easier. They include a touch screen for tuning and data logging that uses an SD card for storage, DIS ignition systems featuring 60-2 trigger wheels, coils, accessory gauges, boost controllers, etc.

We’re hoping to test one of these systems in the near future and will fill you in on all the details. We think Holley hit one out of the park with these new offerings. You can check out all the details at www.holley.com. The new systems will be ready to ship in late spring 2010.
