Craigslist is dangerous for dreamers like me. God help us all if I ever win the lottery, because the Craigslist shopping spree better include some warehouse space to hold all the crap I would buy. In the spirit of spending little, and building something cool, I’ve found five projects that are listed for $1400 each. From a later model Land Rover Discovery, to a Unibody Ford truck, with a Mustang, Pontiac, and BMW thrown in for good measure, there is something here that will speak to most anyone.
Check them out below and let us know which one you would choose.
1961 Ford Unibody Pickup

1988 BMW 5-Series
88 BMW 528e “super eta” This is a rare car that starts instantly runs and drives. Engine and trans are solid. Would be a great mini project to make a really solid e28 daily driver. I have some parts to include. Salvage title due to fender bender years ago. Moda 16″ wheels (shown) and stock chromed wheels (not shown). Looking for a good home for this classic. If you know e28s, you know what this car is.

This car car is sharp looking, glass T tops. This car is loaded , but has developed a rod knock. Great project car for mechanic or someone looking for a car to play with. we are offering it as is for $1400 its in pretty decent shape , OR we can rebuild the engine with a warranty of 12 months or 12 thousand miles for a total of $3950
1996 Land Rover Discovery
You suck Chad!
I hate being on the wrong coast! Not a Ford fan but that Unibody is something I would take on as a challenge. The Mustang GT is another car of choice.
I’ll take the Ford unibody. Not only are they cool, their also kinda rare birds.
Uni-body all the way….if there was enough money the uni-body and the fox body…swap engines and part out the left overs….
I would buy the F 100 if I could convince the Springer Spaniel it was going to a good home.
Anything but the Land Rover. As a recovering BMW 7 series owner I wash my hands of complicated vehicles with wiring systems that deteriorate.
1400.oo fir title
3500 to pass cali smog…
priceless.
The BMW and Land Rover are money pits. The Unibody and the Trans Am represent solid value in my view. Yep, I can see that Ford pickup with a mechanical resto and rolling with its current rusty finish; people pay to get a finish like that!
And the winner is…
The Uni-body by miles – put in a blown FE with an EFI’d Hilborn Shotgun, fit a straight axle and Halibrands and go out hunting 41 Willys coupes.
The cheapest route to gasser heaven on the planet!
The Unibody already has a straight front axle. Twin-I-Beam came out in 1965.
I have to go for the Trans Am. It’s a cheap stroker kit away from glory!
