BANGshift Question Of The Day: If You Could Attend ANY Car Event In The World, What Would It Be?

BANGshift Question Of The Day: If You Could Attend ANY Car Event In The World, What Would It Be?

With Rocky Mountain Race Week registration opening today, it has me thinking about all the dream events I’ve been lucky enough to attend in my life. And yet there are still some races and such that I have NOT attended and some of them would surprise some of you. Like the U.S. Nationals in Indy. Never been. Weird right? Especially when you consider the fact that I’ve attended tons of other events there and have raced multiple cars there as well. Hell, I’ve announced there several times too and yet have never been there for the Big Go. Power Tour, Drag Week, Rocky Mountain Race Week, Detroit Autorama, Grand National Roadster Show, Long Beach Grand Prix, NHRA National Events all over the country, The March Meet, OUSCI, The SEMA Show, King of the Hammers, and so much more. I’m talking hundreds of events that hot rodders all over the world would give their left nut to attend.

But I don’t take it for granted, and there are still more events I want to go to. I want to go to Indy for the Big Go AND for the 500. I want to go to Monaco for the Grand Prix. Again, I’ve been to Monaco a couple of times and it rules. But I’ve never been their during the Formula 1 race. One Lap of America, the inspiration for Drag Week, is another event I would like to participate in. And what about SummerNats in Australia?!

Man, there are tons of them actually. I’ll have to put some thought into this.

If you had just one car event, ANY car event, that you could attend with the snap of your fingers, what would it be? Which event would you choose? Can you choose just one?

Bonneville Loring or Maxton and definitely the Isle of Man TT and I’d love to lap Talladega at speed .

Been to most from taking laps at Daytona to the Big Go and the 500 in Indy but the very essence of our sport/hobby is exhibited in a surreal almost out of this earth location at the Bonneville Salt Flats each August. Sunrise on the starting line at B’ville is Mecca for sure.

2nd after Goodwood would be dragweek, if I had the youth and vigor. Which I don’t. Mazda Laguna Seca historical and Bakersfield March meet too.

Never been to Bonneville,Would love to. I have been to Bowling Green Ky. Hot Rod Reunion a few times. It is old school cool mecca for drag racing for sure. Its a dragstrip.,paved circle track, water park, amusment park and camp ground all in one place. Take a camper or tent set up and never have to leave .I and others I have taken really enjoy it.Goin back this year.Hope to B-Ville some day .

We are very spoiled here in Michigan. 18 race tracks within 2 hours of the homestead. Every thing from NASCAR to 1/4 mile dirt to 2 mile road tracks to 300mph drag strips. We have a Indy car race every year and a 500 lap snowmobile race to get thru the winter. Bonneville is on the top of my list along with Laguna Seca

Isle of Mann or Bonneville Speed Week… but I would have to compete at Speed Week, not be a spectator… but I don’t think I have balls big enough to race the Isle of Mann, it would be scary enough just being a spectator… (and then there’s the March Meet and the CHRR… on my list of races to race)
