People are always asking us what it is like to go to the SEMA show. They ask questions about parts, people, cars, booths and more, and most often make the assumption that we spend the entire week ooohing and aaaahing over cars, parts, and famous people and then hit the bars each night. Sorry to disappoint, but it’s usually a lot more hectic than that since we’re thrashing to get you the best content we can while meeting with current sponsors, potential sponsors, and fans of the site. Don’t get us wrong, the SEMA Show is really really cool, and incredibly important for us to attend, but it’s not always the “vacation” for us you guys often think it is. With that said, the craziness of trying to make meetings, shoot photos, find out about new parts, and check out cars is often interrupted by, well… some pretty crazy and cool stuff.
Yesterday for example included almost literally running from one end of the SEMA Show to the other, only to be stopped by two television personalities, a racing icon, and several heroes in the industry while trying to go shoot video. Sounds horrible doesn’t it?
Not really. Stressful? Yes. Annoying? Yes, but only because I had to go do the video rather than hanging out with the cool kids.
Do you want to know something specific about our adventures, the SEMA Show in general, or anything else about the show? Then go ahead and ask. It’s open mic night so to speak, and we want to hear your questions.
What with all the hookers, blow, and hobnobbing, I’m surprised you had any time to take pictures!
j/k , you guys do a great job. Trade shows are a mixed blessing. If you had a booth, you’d be really screaming! 🙂

maybe I should go next year to handle the photography end of it
Sorry Wickman. That is not a question. Lol
Chad, you can try and make it sound rough, but in the end you are at
SEMA and we are all at work, so don’t look for any sympathy.
Allow me Charles…”You want I should handle the photography next year?”. There, that’s a question. Since it’s such a big show, perhaps a couple assistants are in order.
I’ll arm wrestle you for it.

The real question is why aren’t there more gearhead girls like Miles and Elana Scherr?
