Zombies, aliens, left or right wing radicals, or mutant wart hogs could at any point take over the world. Or at least that’s what the “experts” on the subject say. And since a couple of friends of mine are total zombie fans, we have bench raced the idea of what the ultimate zombie fighting machine would be. But what if it was the aliens? Or the left wing radicals Rush Limbaugh keeps preaching about? What about the Right wing wackos? Preparedness is key my friends, so now is the time to figure out what your apocalypse vehicle is going to be. Big? Small? Weaponized? Fast? Able to float, fly or dig? All of the above? Let us know.
I”ll go with a unimog. I like the older rounder ones. But that whit square-ish one would work.
I think I can hold my ground for a while in a Marauder…

Haha, YES, excellent choice. I take it you watched the episode of Top Gear when they tested it?
Im thinking my belvedere would be alright with some armour and some weaponry
I like the fountain drink on the Unimog’s step… excellent zombie bait!
I’m liking the unimog, but they would be extremely hard to acquire in case of sudden apocalypse. Im heading to the farm and firing up our John Deere harvester! Of course, some protection for those big windows would be in order.
I would go with a already proven vehicle “Mad Max’s ” XP V8 Interceptor from the Road Warrior.
That’s a tough choice to beat… although I’d also toss some mountain bikes in the trunk. They don’t depend on gasoline and can be maintained with a simple tool kit and package of inner tubes.
nice choice but sorry, had to correct you, XB interceptor. An XP is a 1965-66 Falcon in Australia, XB is 73-75
The 4 door MRAP, but I’d want to take a multifuel injector pump from a M35
pickup.http://www.google.com/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=mrap&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&docid=WJ8H6vg9CnOsOM&tbnid=S357khZiNpYRGM:&ved=&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.autoevolution.com%2Fnews-image%2Foshkosh-gets-438m-for-1000-mrap-m-atv-13183-1.html&ei=A7B6UcfoEOitiALHwoCABA&bvm=bv.45645796,d.cGE&psig=AFQjCNFZjLlRAMaBNICnbiWYjSO6CF3aZQ&ust=1367081347563992
I think I would like to have an Abrams tank.
AND some Hostess Twinkies!
if its the apocalypse I want the Last V8 from Mad Max / The Road Warrior
One of my friends built the awesomest Mad-Max Mobile Workshop out of an old Isuzu tow-truck. She can also use it for camping.
Terradyne Gurkha build in good old Canada!
Put that big gun on the truck and I’ll take it. Other than that I’ll take my chances with my 54 Dodge Power Wagon. It ain’t let me down yet.
The Landmaster from the post-apocalyptic film Damnation Alley.

It even comes equipped with a 427 Ford (industrial) engine and an Allison automatic. This vehicle is great for combating man-eating cockroaches and giant mutant scorpions–though not so good at combating cheesy special effects from the late 70’s.
easy, the armored bulldozer that guy went crazy and destroyed a town with. only leave a door to get in and out of it with and mount a turret machine gun on top.
I agree ,those are all bad ass heavy duty rides! How ever the one item that keep’s them going in almost any condition may be their biggest downfall, the elecronic ignition. Can you say “EMP” ? The vehicle I would choose for the Apocalypse would be my 62 Prostreet Falcon. It’s not bullet proof and has no onboard weapon’s but it does have a point’s ignition which would allow it to do the first thing you need from one of these rides……..start ! See ya at the track,L.J.
I already have it.
It is my Suzuki enduro.
Light as a feather and can go anywhere.
Catch me if you can!
PINZGAUER! More realistic would be Willy’s Wagon or Early Toyota FJ’s
