BangShift Question Of The Day: What’s The One Driving Event You Most Want To Attend This Year?

BangShift Question Of The Day: What’s The One Driving Event You Most Want To Attend This Year?

Yesterday’s BangShift Question of the Day asked what modifications you most want to make to your car this year, and one of the responses struck me as particularly interest. The Varmit said “The change I would like to make is my buns in the seat more. I haven’t gotten to enjoy my car(s) near enough the last 2 years.” This got me thinking I’m in the same boat as The Varmit. I am never home to work on or drive my junk. Like never. So one of the things I want to do most this year is get behind the wheel of my hot rods and a few different race cars.

And with all the cool driving events available to us as hot rodders, along with new racing opportunities with the Ultimate Street Car Association, there really isn’t any reason for some event to fire us up. Power Tour, Drag Week, Goodguys shows, NSRA, indoor car shows, drag races, off road races, cruise nights, and much much more are all over the country and just waiting for all of us to attend. I’m at a ton of these events each year either broadcasting, announcing or just shooting photos, but that’s not the same as driving my hot rod and enjoying the event. This year I want to attend a show or race just for fun. How about you?

We want to know what events you want to attend for 2014. Or what event have you always dreamed of attending and haven’t been able to yet? This is your year. Make the pilgrimage to something new, and/or come visit us at an event near you. Cruise your car, race your car, drive your car. That’s why we build them after all, isn’t it?

So…What the one driving event you most want to attend this year? Inquiring minds want to know.

I’m planning to Long Haul Power Tour again this year. And a bunch of weekend vacations locally. Both in my 6 year old daughter’s 1980 T-Top Camaro.

  2. Scott Liggett

I have no particular events in mind yet. I do want to get my Impala out for track use this year. I still haven’t tested all the changes made to the suspension I made last year beyond road tripping it 1800 miles to Nebraska. The few twisties on Hwy 50 in the Sierra Nevada weren’t enough for me.

Now that I live closer to the power tour and drag week, I would definitely like to go to those events, but that won’t happen this year.

Never did the Power Tour but this year its starting in Charlotte. I live only 3 hrs away and will have a car ready. Just don’t yet how many stages.

  4. Big Dave

Power Tour for sure, I look forward to seeing friend again and making new one. Also Crus’in the Coast, doing burnouts an avoiding the law!

  5. 440 6Pac

NHRA Southern Nationals at Atlanta Dragway. Usually get there every year but haven’t been able to the last couple of years.
I would like to run in pro mod there but don’t even have the car close to being ready.
I’ll be making it to my local strip and running every Friday they have Friday Night Under the Lights Street Racing.

  6. Bill Fowler

Drag Week, Anti Tour, NMRA True Street and Ultimate Street car deal and a standing mile event. Hope nothing breaks.

  7. Jake

Since going on drag week last year I’m hooked and will be there this year. I’m now out on all future power tours.

  8. Keith Fox

Drag week a 4th time with a new blower motor. Texas Nostalgia Nationals at Yellow Belly in may. Houston world of wheels in November. Texas thaw in march at North Star in Denton.

  9. Bryan Beard

Power Tour and the Ohio Mile. Been saying I am going to both, and 2014 is my year for doing, not “going to”.

  10. Tod Hoffmann

I’ve done the power tour twice, but only long hauled once in 2007. I would really like to long haul my ’66 GTO.

I’d also like to do drag week with my pickup.
