BangShift Question Of The Day: Would You Rather Race At The Indy 500 Or Monaco Grand Prix?

This is a tough one for a lot of people I think. For Americans, the Indy 500 is THE open wheel race of all time. For open wheel racing fans, Monaco holds a special place in their hearts as one of the most famous Formula One Grand Prix races of all time. I’ve been to both, although not for the races. And I did just watch the James Garner Movie Grand Prix. (I got it at Walmart for $4 by the way.) So I don’t know which one I would rather race at for sure. That’s a tough one.

Which one would you rather race at, the Indy 500 or Monaco Grand Prix?

Indy. But only if it’s NASCAR.
There ain’t but two kinds of racing. Drag racing, and NASCAR.

Monte Carlo, Real race cars, turning left, turning right, uphill, downhill, tunnel, and engines turning 18K and all this on a race track, at most twenty feet wide….No contest

Twenty years ago at the height of CART ? Both ! Todays with the travesty the Indy 500 has become ? Monaco … hands down ….. without a doubt …… unfortunately

GuitarSlinger after yesterdays race I can say you missed a very good race. 68 lead changes (at times 3 lead changes on the same lap) only 5 cautions ,no multi car wrecks,130 consecitive green flag laps.
I grew up going to Ontario with my Dad,the cars may have been more “open” ruled back then but there was a huge gap in performance from the front of the grid to back, the constant passing then was “traffic” back markers, lappers. Yesterday an honest 10 cars could have won at the last restart.
I HATE the look of the new car,but they put on a great race!

I would love to be able to row the gears in a ’92 Williams Renuelt at Monaco AND lap Indy in an ’81 Chaparell.
