Comp Cams Question Of The Day: What Car Do You Hate To Admit You Love?

Comp Cams Question Of The Day: What Car Do You Hate To Admit You Love?

We have to admit that the guys over at Comp Cams come up with some pretty interesting photos and questions each week on their Facebook page. And somehow we always get suckered into reading all the comments. Yesterday they asked the question: What car do you hate to admit you love? Comments ranged from “I’m a Ford guy but have to admit that I love ’67 Z28 Camaros” to “I’m a muscle car guy but have to admit I love a nice looking import with wheels and a slight lowering job.” It’s funny that these guys say it because although I am definitely a Chevy guy at heart, I do love Ford Mavericks. In fact at this weekend’s Goodguys Show in Texas I got to drive one owned by Chris Moore that I really dig.

So, answer Comp’s question….

Ford guy,Late 80’s Chevy shortbed trucks SS454 like.

Also seem to have a problem with BMW M3’s……

    1970 Chrysler 300 Hurst.

When you think of muscle cars you think small car, big engine but the 300-H is what I would call an “adult muscle car.” It’s got the 375 HP “TNT” 440, a really cool paint job, intergral rear spoiler, fibrglass hood with “power bulge”, hidden headlights, big fat H70 RWL tires on styled steel wheels, a big luxury interior with all the creature comforts and is a dream to drive long distance even with 4 or 5 people in the car, and a trunk big enough to hold all their luggage.

First generation Ford Probe GT. Not too popular with the domestic guys because Ford tried to replace the Mustang with it, and it wouldn’t have filled the Fox body Mustang’s shoes well at all. Import guys don’t like it because it’s got a blue oval on it. But put one on racing tires and flog it around a go kart track, and it’s an amazingly well balanced car that can hang the tail out as much as you want.

A 1951 Kaiser that I bought to flip. It’s ugly as sin but is very comfortable and gets 30 mpg. I’m afraid I’ll keep it.

I’m a Ford guy but I love those 70-73 Chevy Vegas in Pro stock or pro street trim. Also the Chevy Monza’s in the same look.

As a Mopar guy, I actually like some AMC products such as the late 60’s Ramblers,Gremlins, Javelins, and of course the AMX.

I’m digging my Chevy Cruze. Bob Chiluk and I took it to shoot the World Series at Cordova. He’s 6’5, I’m 6’1 and 280. We were comfortable, fit our luggage and camera gear, and got 38 MPG doing it. I’d have bought a used one, but they were mostly former rental cars, and didn’t want to take a chance with one that Brian and Chad might have gotten ahold of.

Well I’ll readily admit to loving a lot of Fords though I’m a Chevy guy, but I kinda like the supercharged mini cooper s…

It is directly above. Yes, a yellow Gremlin. It looks exactly like the one which I had back in the day-yellow and all.
    Mine packed a 401 and a Ford 9″ Traction Loc with 4:11’s.

A lot of folks who tangled with it never knew what hit ’em.

That car was one hell of a lot of fun.
