Ah, New Year’s Day.
Year after year, the majority of the population lies to themselves about things that they are going to start doing and/or stop doing, and gym membership numbers temporarily swell only to drop off just within the end date of the full refund grace period.
See, I don’t really care too much about how many pounds you want to lose this year or the bad habits that you’re hoping to kick, but I am interested in any cool gear head resolutions that you may have as I get a ton of inspiration from reading about them.
Personally I’ve got a whole bunch of little automotive related resolutions, but here’s a few of the big ones:
1. Buy a welder and learn to weld (Preferably MIG and TIG)
2. Join an autocross club and drag my cars out to as many events as possible this year
3. Finally head to the West Coast and experience that car scene first-hand
4. Drive both of my cars as much as possible for pleasure, not just commuting and “around town”
Those are a few of my resolutions; what are yours? Finally firing up the engine in a long-term project car? A new personal best for ET in the quarter mile? Learning a new skill? Let’s hear it!
Happy New Year’s, Everybody! Here’s to a great 2014!
Be a little less stressed, (fun car in shop again, hit and run), get out to drags more, once car out of shop, enjoy Northern Calif. many spectacular roads and vistas. Thats a start. May B.S. continue to grow and its fans have a safe and great year. CHUCK
Drive my cars more and attend at least one event every other week.
Finally fix the rust and rewire the Impala after 17 years of ownership.
I’ll be obtaining my HVAC associates degree this year, after having a career in the US Navy, then I’ll be bringing out my hot rods since they have been put on temporary hold while I’ve working on my degree.
I also just reserved a hotel room for the 2014 Street Machine Nationals.
Rock On 75 …. Rock On !
To finally once and for all stop giving a rats behind about what the new car Industry and especially the [ not so ] Big American Three are or are not doing . Its all total BS .. and … I’m done
Always make the same resolution,
never failed to keep it…..
“No New Year´s Resolutions.”
more cubes, more compression, more camshaft, low 11s on 1st track day!
try and make some progress on my “imaginary” drag week car.
Get my 93 Mustang into the 11’s
Don’t care about losing weight ? My car could pick up about 1/2 a tenth if I could lose what the doctor recommends. ; /
Lets see here help cool breeze and Kal El f or nia. Hot tunes one the dial and even highr riving ii tuners on the mind.trying to keep up with Cranium accelerating technologu. Keeping it all original asposible. Lets blow the doors off this year. Learning and growing every day. All the whilie Hopeing geto get the bedt on the street.
Marry my 6V71 to a 671 manifold. And get something, anything on the salt.
I don’t make resolutions. But I do intend to get my 55 Plymouth running again and make my Challenger dragster a little faster.
To get my Mustang into a cool cruising machine. Top down, sun shine and good tunes.
After 4 years of busting my ass in semi-successful stockcar racing, I resolve to take my name and have fun building my V8 S-10.
After 25 years of work and family to finally get all these 80% done vehicles DONE!
Like really DONE.
No missing parts… Empty all those damn boxes and the ideas in my head to make actual noise and momentum….
No list of things to do or not do just to drive the things….
Real plates and insurance…..
Actual time behind the wheel….. not around the block, not one day, not one trip then sit for 3 friggin’ years…….
Be an acutal car guy who spends more time doing than talking and dreaming.
Mark my words, 2014 ! I’m ready !
