The Dukes of Hazzard is one of the most iconic TV shows of my youth. I would lay on the floor as close to the TV as mom would allow and listen to Waylon belt out “Good Ol’ Boys” while getting ready for another episode of The Dukes of Hazzard. The song actually became a Billboard #1 Hit in 1980 when an extended radio version was released. The song has since been sung by Waylon’s son Shooter, and just about every star surrounding The Dukes of Hazzard TV Show or Movie. Hell, even the Chipmunks sang it once.
No matter who has sang it since, the best will always be Waylon who you never actually see in the video or on the show. What we do see is plenty of Bo, Luke, and Daisy, plus a lot of the General Lee.
You’ll want to watch it a couple times. We know, because we did too. Click play on the screen below to watch.
wayland does appear in 3 of the episodes and the movie
I stand corrected. I only remembered the one episode.
Actually! Waylon did appear on an episode once playing himself. One of the later episodes when they were using miniatures and trying everything from jumping silos to finding space aliens to get viewers.
The show “jumped the shark” with Coy and Vance Duke.
I cant believe no one has the screen name “Cooter” on BS. What the hell? Brian should use it for his middle name.
