BangShift Daily Tune Up: “Pedal To The Metal” Kazzer (2002) We Suck For Not Doing This One Sooner

With a Weiand 6-71 Blower being the very first image you see in Kazzer’s video for “Pedal to the Metal”, we totally should have run this already as a BangShift Daily Tune Up. The fact that there are burnouts, hot rods, muscle cars, and street racing in this one makes it super cool. It will be ultra controversial because this dude Kazzer is A. Canadian, B. White, C. Starts the song as some sort of rapper/hip hop singer, D. Finishes the song more like an alternative rock singer, E. Does more judo chops that Jackie Chan. It is weird. Oh, and in the spirit of full disclosure, he also dances and fights and jumps around a bunch in this video. It really is strange and yet cool all at the same time. I’m very sure the response to this one will be polarizing. You’ll either think it’s cool, even if weird, or you’ll think he’s a freak show and should have his hot rodder card pulled.

He’s some sort of star in Canada, and this one was actually a big hit everywhere. It was the big hit on his 2002 Go For Broke album.

“some sort of star in Canada”? I never heard of him. But a damn good selection for Daily Tune Up I think.

great song/artist! this guy was on TV a few yrs ago, on Legendary muscle cars show. (also based in Canada) he has a sweet black T-bird that was used as a photo back-drop on several episodes. he’s a true car-guy. its nice to see a younger car-guy into American muscle cars instead of hondas/toyota’s

According to Wikipedia he almost went to the Olympics for Judo back in 2000, so all the moves actually have some substance.

Might not be my kind of tunes, but I think his head is in the right direction and is a real car guy.
Besides, anyone that can backflip off a car onto blacktop with no mat is a badass!

Check him out on another CD that was on Fast and Furious, I believe about racing in Steeltown Canada. First met him as his dad was rebuilding engine for my Cuda and racing a Super Pro 4 speed Cuda. Tom, his dad graduated to a tube chassis Duster with same 4 speed and his mum had a 340 Scamp for the track so this is all in his blood. Miss seeing him on cruise night
