Caption This Photo: The WTF Were They Thinking? Edition

Our pal Danny Popp put this one up on his facebook page, and we couldn’t resist. Words can’t even describe it. I especially like the way that the holes were reinforced. I don’t know what else to say except to also post what Danny said. “The stupidity of some people….guess they couldn’t afford headers or different mufflers on their C6z…Jeeesh.” Yep, even high dollar Corvette guys can do stupid car stuff. But does it sound good? Hmmmmmm

    Turbo Boost!

I did that on my old Firebird that had stock exhaust and was whisper quiet. Wouldn’t recommend it =P

“I added a straight pipe exhaust to my Corvette. It sounds cool, but it seems slower and fuel economy is down. Any idea why?”

FYI, I get asked this same question frequently. Now I know that “straight pipe” is code for “I cut holes in stock exhaust tubing.” Makes *way* more sense with this new info.

you need to have some back pressure because the engine needs it to run its best….mind you

it doesn’t needs to be alot but a good quality cat back works great or even a nice custom system with a cross over..but you need some sort of muffler or you already know what happens…

I’m in a Corvette and no one notices me… I want to make it louder, but since I spent $60,000 on it, I can’t afford a nice exhaust…. I know! I’ll cut holes in it!

LOL @ chevvroids & heated floors option.
at least they didn’t put oversized wheels and loud speakers to jam their shitty music.

wonder if this is the same guy who decided to burn down the last of his tires and smoked out the clutch instead….or one of the two at the red light t bone vette race?

Just wait till I install the oil injectors. My James Bond smoke screen kit will be finished.
I have my decoder ring, easy rider riflle rack, ejection seat kit, Barry White 8 track, tear gas ink pen, waterbed in the hatch for the hot females and another car to drive when this one wont start aftwer I put all of this junk of this thing.

Looks like preparing to install a reqr mount turbo system’s wastegates, or electric cutouts. The reinforcements don’t look all that ghetto to me so, I guess I don’t see this as a person’s stupidity until hear from the owner why he’s had it done. And since it’s a vette owner, you KNOW he paid someone else to do that, LOL.

this reminds me of a guy who tore a large hole in the arse of his pants….when asked why? …he simply said …keeps the flies away from my face!

Just got the Jegs email newsletter and it sure looks like a lot like the initial prep required to install the Stainless Works “Sideburner Exhaust System” shown at the bottom of the page. About as useful as the “Wiley E Coyote” rockets mentioned in the post above. But hell, since it’s all going on a piece of junk built by Government Motors subsidized by “U.S. Taxpayers” to the tune of $83 Billion + and counting that will NEVER be paid back, why not ? I see they have a kit for a V6 Camaro. That should make it sound just as sick as one a those strait piped honda’s. Well, since the new Camaro looks like it was designed by a bunch of 12 year old crackheads who had been playing w/ way to many gobots, I guess it would be appropriate.
