You know how sometimes, the story behind the vehicle is more interesting than the vehicle itself? Well, it might be a little bit of a stretch, but the story behind DMD Offroad’s “Hoenado” Chevrolet Tahoe just might surpass the fact that this is a ProCharged nightmare of a family wagon that will go wherever it damn well pleases.
In 2013, an EF-5 tornado struck Moore, Oklahoma and wreaked devastation along a seventeen-mile path. In the roughly one billion dollars of damages was this Tahoe, which had managed to escape complete and utter destruction. It was still a totaled truck, mind you, but the body was all there and it wasn’t caved in or anything like that. The Tahoe could have been thrown into a crusher like many cars after the twister, but instead it wound up becoming one of the most psychotic “mega trucks” we’ve seen. Do we need to tell you how much grunt it takes to make several tons of monster truck stand up and wheelie like an X275 car? An LSX mill with a ProCharger F2 bolted onto the front will make some $#!* happen!
