Chalk this find up in the “What in the hell am I looking at?” category for BangShift’s online perusing. We’re not quite certain where people get the idea to rebody an entire vehicle, and while we’ve seen much more disastrous results than this hybrid, which is the meeting of a 1995 Chevrolet S-10 with most of the body work of a 1964 Chevy II, we aren’t too certain if we like where this one is heading, either. The S-10 is a 2.2L four cylinder powered, five-speed truck and according to the owner, with notable exception of the air conditioner, it runs and drives just fine. Which is nice, but then there’s the issue of the body itself. Sure, a 1995 S-10 isn’t exactly a looker, but we aren’t completely sure that using a fleet truck to create a Chevy II ute was a good idea. It does look like the seller was taking an honest shot at it and at least from the rear, it looks like things were coming together but the front of the truck is missing…something. I’m not sure if it’s metal between the door and the tire or what, but the huge square missing out of the left side of the bed would have to go, and the body mods would have to be finished, since the passenger side of the truck still looks more S-10 than Chevy II. As far as a price, it’s up to you to take a guess on what the seller wants. Any takers out there? Make sure you have no fear of bodywork, or a Bondo allergy…

(Thanks to Greg for the tip!)
I actually kind of like it.
Drop in an LS with a manual, and call it honest. Sure, it’s fugly as all get out, but it would be a standout on the track.
I challenge you to show me an S-10 owner with good taste.
Excellent point! I don’t think it can be done.
Hey I own an S10! Seriously must have been an alcohol and drug induced build?
Is the side sculpted out of Bondo???
Might have been better if they’d cut down the Nova body to be the cab instead of trying to mate an S10 center section into that thing. I kind of get what they were going for, though – a sort of what-if where Chevy made a competitor to the Falcon based Rancheros.
And now I have an urge to search for a Ranchero on Craigslist.
I just died a little inside.
What a waste of a good Chevy 2!
That’s a lot of work and bondo for something that ends up looking like a Nissan hardbody at first glance.
Ugh! I pray to the hot rod gods every day to make the redneck exhaust tips go away.
