As most of us continue to freeze our bits off here in the Northern Hemisphere, in Australia they are still enjoying their summer. And of course, that means that we get more and more gratuitous burnout footage to share with everybody. This round’s video is of “UIDIOT”, a Ford Cortina with a Chevrolet mill doing the hard work in the front end. At least the owner has enough of a sense of humor to know that the engine choice will piss off purists from both camps and saved them the trouble of speaking for them. But with a flick of his foot he can shut up both camps as well, because this Cortina can blow the tires off just as well as any supercharged beast on a skid pad. Watch the speed that the Ford is carrying on that first tip-in…this thing is no joke!
Straya!!!! yeh I almost envy the cold you guys are talking about ( almost..) I’m sitting here at 5:30 PM and its 40 degrees outside (104 F) – I was out cruising around the city last night; at 12:30, just after midnight, it was 38 ( just over 100F). We still have a few months of it yet too….I went to a show this morning and maybe 25 % of what would normally show was there – nobody around their cars, they were all hiding in the trees drinking beers…as I walked past them there was an announcement coming over the PA that nobody could move their cars off the oval till after 4 PM cos of insurance reasons….the groans and vulgar language said it all…dunno if I would have wanted to hang around that long.
