We are on short time towards the 2017 SEMA Show, and the timing of Jay Leno couldn’t be better, because he recently got wheeltime with the one car that shut up just about everybody who laid eyes on it. It was Lohnes’ choice for the Gran Turismo Awards, and if had said any differently, I had arguments lined up and ready. It was somehow both over-the-top and dramatically understated. You knew it was a Ford, but there were details that you’d need four or five different times to figure out…unless someone was there with a cue card reading off every last possible modification. It didn’t matter if you were looking for pinpoint details, were drooling over the Hilborn-injected mill, or simply walked by and saw the mag wheels with the legit knockoffs just hunkered down, this was a standout effort in a building full of standout efforts. It eclipses a typical hot rod, and doesn’t come off as a garish cubic dollar build. Make no mistake, there’s money in this car…but there is craftsmanship, vision and a dream wrapped up here too. Click on the video and check out what I mean…and experience the one thing we didn’t get to hear last year: that absolutely sultry exhaust note.

What a absolute bummer of an ending to the video. Don’t know if owner ever got to drive the car? Hope it goes to a good home, and lots of car shows!
Saw the video last night, what a friggin beautiful car! Sectioning a car takes big ones to perfect and this is perfection.
Like keezling said, hope the owner gets to drive the car.
Unfortunately Bruce died a couple weeks after the video was made, he never drove it.
Very nice, kudos to the patron Bruce and the men who made it.
