Here It Is, A 500 Horsepower, 10-Second EcoBoost Mustang – You Can Hate The Exhaust Note, But You Can’t Argue Against The Performance!

Love it or hate it, Ford’s turbo-4 Mustang for the modern era can and does haul the mail when properly tuned up, and Watson Racing, in a collaboration with Revolution Automotive, can do just that. The short block might be a new piece from CPE, but the heads, cam and intake are stock EcoBoost parts. Pressurized to 30 PSI, the four-banger can dip into the tens through the stock transmission and 3.73 gears. There has been tons of hate on the EcoBoost cars: they don’t sound right, no Mustang without a V8 is worth mentioning, “the half-assed pony”, whatever. It’s simple talk. The blunt truth is that this four-banger can walk the walk – we saw it in action at the NMRA event in Bowling Green first-hand. So enough muttering about the modern-day Mustang II, alright?

Thank you for allowing us to hate on the exhaust note. I’d rather listen to a rotary through a fart can exhaust – that sounds utterly horrible. Granted, it might make 500 hp – but lots of ricey little shitboxes can do that these days. Not my cuppa at all.

Fast is fast. Most of the haters don\’t have anything near as fast as this. Most guys with truly fast cars respect other truly fast cars. Guess what? This Ecoboost 4 banger just smoked your V8. Didn\’t sound as good, but he doesn\’t know it \’cause he\’s in front of you.

So would this be the Mustang FC? Half of the enjoyment of a muscle car is the exhaust sound and how that makes you feel when driving the car. This Mustang makes me feel like puking no matter how fast it is.
