Locating an untouched Ford Model T that’s in any kind of shape is a surprising find. Either they are perfectly restored and pampered to death or they are yard art that would require an absolute miracle and a parts car to bring back to life. Then you have these oddball finds like this 1927 Model T that has, some how, some way managed to endure it’s 90-plus years on Earth with relative grace and ease.
This late-build Ford has it all: crank starter, air in the tires, glass and a full interior! The seller even claims that it runs and drives, though he doesn’t say if he’s prepared to teach a prospective buyer how to actually operate a Model T. And while it’s drivable, these things usually didn’t do much better than 45mph stock, so unless you’re local, you might want to bring a truck.
Now, here’s the question: Would you be able to resist the temptation to mess with this car? It’s not everyday an all-steel Model T this complete comes up for sale, and certainly not at this price. Could you resist the urge to put a flathead in the front? Would you even avoid converting the T to a traditional control layout? At $6,000, it’s easy enough to buy it and leave it alone but there’s always that itch, in the back of your mind…

This tall top T is sweet. I’d drive it as is.
Lasted this long-leave it alone. Enjoy it for what it is.
Leave it stock and appreciate it for what it is. If I were building a T-bucket type project car, the changes from a Model T would be too drastic to bother with starting with a real Model T anyway – I’d be more inclined to build something that would be essentially a Lotus Seven clone with a track T body and more power.
Don’t touch it. It’s a priceless piece of automotive history.
Put in a turbo ‘Busa engine or an Eco Boost, a nice suspension system that keeps it near to stock ride height and finish it off with some skinny custom wires in body colour with motorcycle tyres – the ultimate sleeper!
Leave it be, enough of them have been modified.
Hot rod it. They can barely do the speed limit restoring those is pointless.
Wax and drive.
Too nice to cut…
There’s plenty of hot rod parts around. I’d just drive it.
Leave as is for sure. Can always hot rod something less cherry.
This is $6000 and that Buick is $99,000? Something is wrong with this world.
I would leave it alone. And, that’s a steal for only $6k.
Are you kidding? Leave it alone. The seminal automobile of the 20th century. Buy a rusted POS and do whatever.
I wouldn’t say that it is “untouched” as model T’s never came with came with floor shifters. Also thats a model A rear end in that rear view pic, so I’m guessing it thats a model A drive line under that Model T, might as well just swap in a Model B crank and cam and have a nice cruiser.
