Ask anyone who was at Carlisle this year for the Chrysler Nationals, and they’ll use one word: hot. We aren’t talking “yes, it’s summer” hot. We’re not talking our usual car show hot. This year, the Mopar faithful were put under a heat lamp…and I can testify, I lost weight just by standing around. I was as salty as a French Fry by the time I called it a day. But aside from the weather, the show itself was hot. Carlisle had enough cars on the property to qualify as a show on Thursday afternoon, the day before everything kicked off. Friday and Saturday the crowds came through to see the cars, to make deals, and to meet the likes of Linda Vaughn, Claudia Abel (Miss Direct Connection), Butch Leal, the Golden Commandos racing team, the Ramchargers racing team, and many more.

Effectively, if you are a Mopar fan, regardless of type, and you didn’t make it to this show, you missed out on a lot. From some of the cleanest AMC products to be seen in a minute to the V8, rear-drive swapped LeBaron convertible that looked like a ball and a half to drive around, the Carlisle Chrysler Nationals is one of the better Mopar shows I’ve seen in a minute. If you’re thinking that next year might be in your cards, plan for July 12-14, 2024.
