The world of Mopar restoration is filled with high dollar amounts and a lot of people who know exactly what they have. It isn’t for the faint of heart or light of wallet by any stretch of the imagination, but if you do decide to play in the Street Hemi cars, your credit line had better be solid and verifiable. It’s easy to see the insanity at the big auctions, but those are complete cars that are well-known and well-documented. What about parts, though? Sure, engines and transmissions are going to set you back some bills, especially if the date-coding lines up. But what about a fuel pump? A factory fuel pump, nothing more. Currently sitting on eBay right now is the pictured pump, a Carter p/n 2585118.
NOS MoPar #2585118 same as 2536764 and Carter M4024S,fuel pump for 1966, 1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, and 1971 Plymouth Satellite Belvedere, Road Runner, GTX and SuperBird, Cuda; Dodge Coronet, Deluxe, 440, 500, Super Bee, R/T, Charger, Daytona, Challenger, and 500. What you see is what you get and THIS ONE IS DATED G 8, List 4024S. Check out my other items! Be sure to add me to your favorites list!
Notice how the price isn’t listed in the description? There’s a reason: He’s asking $2,499.99 for it. That isn’t a typo.

(Thanks to Ron Ward for the tip!)
That reminds me; Out in my garage I have a rusty license plate bolt from a 70 Hemi ‘Cuda that I will take $50 for. Anybody?

That’s the perfect trinket for my ’69 Hemi Road Runner coffee table that is too precious to drive and be exposed to the dirty public 3:)
Mopar guys are sick. Most reasonable people are priced out of the F-body / Mustang stuff – but jesus what some sickies will spend on an old Mopar…
The kook fringe of a dying hobby.
Somebody’s got quite a large coke habit.
Is he kidding? I just quickly found one for $99.95!

Hey Bryan . . . don’t believe everything you see on the internet. It’s full of crooks and people who are just plain stupid. I’m surprised you haven’t figured this out yet.
You sure that thing doesn’t have “Porsche ” printed on it and it’s pre 1973?
and don’t forget the $45 shipping charge… is it as heavy as a 9″ center section?
Why would you want it? Those pumps sucked when new and couldnt feed the hemi. Oh wait. It has some number stamped on it.
My weekend driver is a one owner ’63 Savoy, mechanically solid, solid floors and trunk, nice grille. But the rest of the body is ratty as hell. And I absolutely dig it. It’s my anti-restoration ride. Those people are just plain nuts.
Asking and getting are two different things.
this is almost like the guy who wanted 49k for a z28 crossram setup (because it had never been installed!) My first 56 Chevy cost $250. My current 56 Bel Air cost $250. probably some sucker out there with trust fund money who will buy it anyway.
It didn’t mention in the ad, but assuming that this is in fact and original Carter M4024S and it was built in 1968, that would mean it has a 46 year old diaphragm and valves and seal. If what I suspect is true, that pump will not last too long before the ethanol laden fuel would eat up the internals and leak fuel. I probably have a dozen or so of those pumps sitting in one of our warehouses. The guy trying to sell that one is a dreamer.
1. NOS ’70 ‘Cuda steering wheel sold last year on ebay for 7700$
2.Exhuast manifolds for ’69 Dart 440 or ’69 Cuda 440 will set you back about 4 grand,EACH

All this craziness yet dummies will still put basecoat/clearcoat on there cars, which is INCORRECT! If your so hung up on correctness then u better use real paint, single stage enamel.
