Mopar Mania: Walk Through The Mopars5150 Auction In Georgia!

Ever since I left the western half of the United States to move out to Kentucky, I’ve been vocal about not only the condition of project car material out here, but the absolutely decrepit condition of pretty much any Mopar project car that you can find. Sheetmetal? Gone. Rust? Oh, hell yes. Complete? Ha…good one. And if it is all together, forget the standard Mopar Tax, you might as well start calling up the surgeon to prepare for your arm removal, leg removal, and while you are at it go ahead and start pricing body parts out to science. And that counts even if you’re a freak like me who likes the oddballs. When I decided to hunt for a project to replace the Imperial, I had to rope in help to find something that I would even consider purchasing. Dylan McCool was instrumental in helping locate the ’76 Charger that I now own. The dude knows the area, knows the people, and just has a knack for finding Ma Mopar’s lost children among the Southeast.

Recently, he went down to the Mopars5150 auction in Georgia. Better him than me, because Lord knows that I would be walking around making noises that would sound something like a cross between a hungry puppy’s whine and the bemoaning howl of the tormented soul that is being prodded along by the demon assigned to torment them for eternity. Pretty much every last thing machine that is my kind of poison was present: Coronet R/T, ‘Cuda, GTX, Demon, name it. Any of it. A, B, E bodies, all present, all up for sale. They go from decent rolling projects and worn-down machines ready for a restoration to bare bodies, parts, engines, and more. They aren’t perfect. But find something like a 1971 Dodge Charger R/T with the trick louvered taillights and a 440 under the hood that’s ready to be rebuilt. Go ahead, I’ll wait. In truth, most of the cars would be out of my range even if I had the money I spent on the Charger. If you are a Mopar fan, enjoy this. I know I did.
