Over my time here at BangShift, I’ve picked on Brian and his automotive tastes quite often. Is it mean? It’s not meant to be any more evil than some good natured ribbing, but oddly enough as much as I torment Lohnes, I don’t do the same to Chad. It’s not like I don’t know where to hit him where it hurts, either. Chad like RVs for some reason, so when my eBay trolling uncovered this 1989 Chevrolet van, I knew what I had to do…offer Chad a reason to see how much money is left in the piggy bank.

The first thing that stands out here isn’t the hi-top conversion or even the generators and vents…it’s the fact that this G20 van is packing four-wheel drive. It’s at stock height, but that doesn’t detract from why it’s cool at all…in fact, it looks factory clean as it sits, and if that doesn’t work out, then there is always a company like Quigley that can lift it up and stick it on 35-inch tires. Inside it’s fairly clean for an older van, though the seller does point out that it has been used as intended, so the Chevy has seen it’s fair share of hunting and camping trips over the years. When you take that into consideration, the G20 is actually in excellent shape. We can’t argue with the 350 hiding under the doghouse, nor can we argue with the bed, sink, and other accommodations. Our only curiosity surrounds why the refrigerator is so close to the can, and we must admit that the butterscotch, caramel and chocolate paint work isn’t our favorite color combination, but that’s really being nit-picky. With two captain’s chairs up front, a bed in the middle and a crapper in the back, I think we’re looking at a rolling mobile HQ!
