Hold Lohnes Back: This Coyote-Swapped 1979 Ford F-100 Pro Streeter Is Shop Truck Sweetness!

Everybody jokes about how there is always a Camaro-related story for everybody. It’s not too farfetched, but my money says that for every one Camaro story, there’s two out there that involve a Ford truck. You can have your brand affiliations, but you cannot deny the success that Ford has had with pickup trucks. Your dad may have owned one…or maybe your grandfather…or so on. How many are out there in the world today? Who knows…we doubt even Ford has the number. But one particular truck caught our eye while scanning through eBay, and for good reason.

This 1979 Ford F-100, on the surface, is farm truck meeting modern Pro Street. The body has a nice blend of clean paint and typical wheel well rust…the severe OCD among us might want to fix that, but it does add some character to the truck. Well, the part of this ride that is still technically a truck, anyways: underneath that body is a mix of Ford truck, Crown Victoria and Mustang GT. The frame has been fully boxed, the front suspension is a full Panther front clip swap, and the back half is a fully adjustable ladder bar suspension with coil overs. The Mustang donation is the full running gear setup from a 2011 GT, so there is the Coyote 5.0L V8 and the 6R80 automatic transmission. There may be 4.56 gears in the Mark Williams diff out back, but you’ll still only turn 2,200 RPM on the highway, according to the seller.

f100-3 f100-4I love it when I get to show Lohnes finds like this in person…it’s fun to see him try to not twitch as he checks it out! Not that I’d mind it either, but what about you?

Wow. Similar shade of green to my Chevy truck and the same general idea of modern power in an old beater truck, but MUCH better execution.

    No – I can’t see one!

Somebody out there has actually got a brain – shock horror!

For there’s not an LS in sight……
