This Chevrolet S-10 Blazer Looks Like The Support Vehicle, But Don’t Buy That Line For A Second

One of our favorite vehicles from the 2014 LS Fest was this Chevrolet W/T that had the sleeper motif down pat: toolboxes in the bed, paint rougher than a Wednesday afternoon stripper, and the ability to smash into the 11-second range. This wasn’t a pro-built drag truck, this was a street hustler running legally, and run it did. When it came time for this year’s LS Fest, we were looking around for it, to see if it had improved any since our last sighting. We never saw it…

What we did see was a super-sano 1993 Chevrolet Blazer that looked nearly stock come into the lanes. So it was packing a V8 swap…everything had a V8 in it. What got us was when it was time for the Blazer to strut it’s stuff down the strip. No truck on stocker all-terrains had no business doing what this mini-Blazer did: no sideways action, no barking gears…just back end squat, front end climb…not lift…and a high-11 second quarter was the result. The gig is simple: the Blazer was converted from a four-wheel drive system to the all-wheel-drive system out of a GMC Syclone. A basic LS swap was performed, and a lot of tuning was performed. It was bracket-racing reliable and we’ve heard rumor that a local boy or two might have been embarrassed by it outside of the track. We don’t know that for sure, but be honest: no exhaust note to really speak of and looks that remind you of when these things were everywhere. Would you give it a second guess?

(Only after seeing this video did we learn where the W/T was, and that the same guy owns both trucks.)
